Titania
 by Christina Sng
Titania
 by Christina Sng
The whales held their breaths
And threw themselves
Through the void.

Some froze, but others made it,
Breaking through the ice,
Plunging into Titania’s oceans

Free from mankind’s grasp
After they conquered Uranus
And took it for their own.

The probes followed
But the whales pushed them
Into crushing depths.

Then ships arrived to mine
The moon of its treasures,
Including the whales.

They only managed to take
The diamonds. The whales
Retreated to the depths

Where they were hidden
And safe. There, they lived
Peacefully for many cycles

And the humans, drowned
By the rising oceans on Earth
Never invaded them again.
